- CLASSIC ALBUM OF THE
WEEK
- Silberbart "4 Times Sound Razing" 1971 (Germany)
- Silberbart
only recorded this solitary album, but what an album it is!
Krautrock meets the heavy metal power trio approach of Blue Cheer
on these four lengthy cuts, hence the perfectly descriptive title.
If there was ever a krautrock album heavier than this, I haven't
heard it yet! Their music also has some of the moody gothic
emotionalism of Amon Duul II's work, in addition to scathing noise
freakouts and bone-crushing riffs. The group's name translates to
English as "Silverbeard" -- which sorta explains the cover picture of a
smiling metal gnome with blood dripping down his pointy hat!
