- CLASSIC ALBUM OF THE
WEEK
- Bent Wind "Sussex" 1969 (Canada)
- This
obscure album from Toronto's Bent Wind is one of the great unsung gonzo
fuzz guitar records of the sixties. It's not a particularly
innovative album (similar to the distorted folk rock of early Jefferson
Airplane), but the band delivers their garage skronk with committed
gusto. They have occasionally reunited in recent years for gigs
and have recorded two more albums (plus a CD with some live recordings
from the 60's, "The Lost Ryerson Tapes".)
