Perrey & Kingsley "The In Sound From Way Out!"  1966 (France/USA)
Jean-Jacques Perrey and Gershon Kingsley were an important duo in the history of electronic pop.  Both were quite successful on their own (Kingsley wrote "Popcorn", the classic #1 moog hit), but it was as a team that they made their most important mark.  This was their first collaboration, a groundbreaking record for which they spents hundreds of hours recording and hand-splicing miles of analog tape to produce a sound that today would be quite simple to achieve with a digital sampler.  They followed with a second album "Kaleidoscopic Vibrations" in 1967, which is more of a standard moog album, though still a classic of "space age bachelor pad music."
