"20 Jazz Funk Greats" by Throbbing Gristle (1978)

Last week on the show we explored the weird subgenre of "switched-on" moog records.  One of the more amusing records to have been influenced by those good ole "psychedelic exotica" sounds was Throbbing Gristle's third album, ironically titled 20 Jazz Funk Greats.  Known as one of the pioneers of "industrial music", TG have been standard bearers of weird underground sounds ever since the mid-1970's, although with nods to Martin Denny and krautrock this record is certainly their "catchiest" and the most accessible entry point for the casual listener.
